Rec Department and Willowick Baseball
Willowick Baseball works hand-in-hand with the Willowick Recreation Department throughout the season. We have a Recreation Liaison who helps support communication, provides guidance, and assists with league needs to help ensure a successful and smooth season for all families and players.
The Recreation Department also reviews league finances annually to help ensure that funds raised are being properly reinvested back into Willowick Baseball through equipment, field improvements, supplies, and other needs that continue to strengthen and improve the league each year.
While the Recreation Department is a valued partner and support system for Willowick Baseball, they do not directly run the league. Willowick Baseball operates as its own organization with its own sounding board and leadership team that works year-round to support the needs, growth, and success of the league and its players.
What is Junior Warriors VS Warriors Divisions
Willowick Baseball League is divided into two leagues to help best support players based on age, skill development, and level of play: the Junior Warriors League and the Warriors League.
⚾ Junior Warriors League
The Junior Warriors League is designed for our younger players who are eager to learn the fundamentals of baseball in a fun, supportive, and instructional environment. This league focuses heavily on skill-building, teamwork, sportsmanship, and introducing the game in a positive way.
Players in this league range from 4–8 years old, with most gameplay involving coach pitch or tee-ball to help children build confidence and develop their hitting and fielding skills.
Divisions within the Junior Warriors League include:
• T-Ball: Ages 4–5
• Mini: Ages 5–6
• Mites: Ages 7–8
All Junior Warriors games are played in-house at Manry and Dudley Fields.
⚾ Warriors League
The Warriors League is designed for our older players who have developed a love for baseball or are interested in experiencing a more competitive level of play. This league introduces players to increased independence, game strategy, and competition.
Players in this league will travel to surrounding cities to compete against other teams and communities, giving them the opportunity to experience a wider level of competition and teamwork.
Unlike Junior Warriors, all divisions within the Warriors League are kid pitch, meaning coaches no longer step in to pitch during games.
Divisions within the Warriors League include:
• Minors: Ages 9–10
• Majors: Ages 11–12
• Pony: Ages 13–15
No matter the division, our goal is to help every player grow their confidence, skills, teamwork, and love for the game!
